After all, the High Republic deserves to be integrated into the larger Star Wars canon beyond its current niche in comics and novels. As there is no High Republic content in games currently, this would be a solid first step toward bringing wider recognition to the era as well. Plus, considering that the High Republic is just beginning, representing this period solely through heroes would be a totally amicable solution. With hero units for some of its core Jedi like Avar Kriss, bringing content from this burgeoning era of Star Wars to Battlefront II would be a great treat. The High Republic could be represented similarly to the Old Republic. While an ideal Battlefront title would feature the Old Republic as an entire era, having heroes in Battlefront II would be compelling. These are just a few of the faces that could be brought into Battlefront II, as the depth of lore between the Knights of the Old Republic titles and The Old Republic MMO is staggering. Even iconic Republic Troopers like Jace Malcom would make for compelling hero units. There are so many Jedi and Sith that can be drawn upon, from Bastila Shan to Darth Malak.

This era of Star Wars is both sadly unrepresented in modern games and absolutely beloved by the fan base. Introducing New Heroes and VillainsĭICE should first look to the Old Republic. While developing new heroes would still take solid development resources, these would provide players with good rewards to grind for, while taking less effort than new maps and modes. An excellent way to accomplish this is through new heroes, ideally ones from currently unrepresented eras of the galaxy. However, DICE can inject more life into the game through smaller content drops that still keep people playing.
